Player Code of Conduct
 

All Broncos Lacrosse Club members (players) are required to sign the Broncos Lacrosse Club Code of Conduct as a condition of participation.

As a member of Broncos Lacrosse Club, I understand that I represent Broncos Lacrosse Club and I will do nothing to bring discredit upon the club or myself.

At all times I have a responsibility to:

·         Demonstrate respect to individuals regardless of gender, ethnic or racial origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, religion, political belief, disability or economic status.

·         Demonstrate the spirit of sportsmanship, sports leadership and ethical conduct.

·         Avoid public criticism of athletes, coaches, opponents, officials, organizers volunteers, staff and members.

·         Maintain and enhance the dignity and self-esteem of fellow athletes.

·         Ensure the rules of the sport and spirit of such rules are adhered to.

·         Work as a cooperative member of a team.

·         Protect and promote the health and safety of myself and fellow athletes.

At no time will I:

·         Possess, steal, destroy, vandalize, or in any way endanger the safety or property of others.

·         Possess or use illegal drugs or controlled substances, including tobacco products.

·         Possess or use performance enhancing drugs or inappropriate training methods

·         Possess or use alcoholic beverages.

·         Behave in any way that constitutes harassment, in either a verbal, physical or sexual manner.

·         When participating as an athlete on a Broncos Lacrosse Club team, I also promise to:

·         Comply with any team rules, including nightly curfews, established by Broncos Lacrosse Club and/or the coaching staff.

·         Attend all team functions, including meetings, practices, meals, games, tournaments and any other function designated by the Board of Directors (“Board”) team managers and/or coaches unless specifically excused by one of the above.

·         Travel with the team unless other specific arrangements are made known and approved by the coaching staff.

·         Compete in the games and tournaments chosen by the coaching staff, and attend all related events as directed by the coaching staff.

·         Comply with established uniform requirements.

·         Abide by any additional guidelines established by the Board, team managers or coaching staff to ensure the safety and well-being of team members.

Disciplinary Action:

Minor breaches of discipline will normally be dealt with by the coaching staff, which will discuss the problem with the athlete involved. I understand that failure to comply with the coaching staff’s request for discussion of a problem may result in immediate dismissal from the team and, if traveling, return home at my own or parental expense. I further understand that additional sanctions may be imposed after a timely review by the Broncos Lacrosse Club Board, team managers or coaching staff.

I understand that disciplinary action may include, but is not limited to the following (listed in order of severity):

·         Suspension from or termination of participation in non-competitive team activities.

·         Suspension from or termination of participation in one or more games or tournaments.

·         Dismissal from the team and, if traveling, return home at my own or parental expense.

·         Termination of membership in the Broncos Lacrosse Club.

·         Denial of future membership in the Broncos Lacrosse Club

I understand that I may appeal any disciplinary action in accordance with the Broncos Lacrosse Club Bylaws.

 

A copy of the player code of conduct will be signed by the player and his parents and submitted as part of the registration packet. (See Registration for downloadable form)
