Summary of Drug/Alcohol Sanctions for Students

Alcohol Offense off Campus (Self Reported) – 1st offense

The nature of the offense will determine if the Dean advises the Principal to convene the Disciplinary Review Board.

 If the board does not convene the sanction is: 

1.                  drug/alcohol evaluation

2.                  minimum 15 hours of service

3.                  minimum 1 week suspension from all non-academic school activities, effective immediately 

Alcohol Offense off Campus (Self Reported) – 2nd offense (in a career) 

The nature of the offense will determine if the Dean advises the Principal to convene the Disciplinary Review Board.

If the board does not convene the sanction is:

1.                  drug/alcohol evaluation

2.                  minimum of 30 hours of service

3.                  minimum 2 week suspension from all non-academic school activities, effective immediately

4.                  disciplinary probation

5.                  if the student participates in co-curricular activities, he will serve a suspension from his activity(s) that equates to a minimum of 25% of upcoming competitions or performances. 

a.       This suspension may coincide with and is not in addition to the 2 week suspension listed above, assuming the offense happens in season.

b.      If 25% of the season does not remain, this suspension will extend into the following co-curricular’s season.  (The Dean will determine how the percentages translate.)

c.       If the pending suspension is judged too distant by the Dean, an alternate sanction may be imposed at the Dean’s discretion.

1.                  violation of probation – Disciplinary Review Board 

Alcohol Offense off Campus (Not Self Reported) – 1st offense

The nature of the offense will determine if the Dean advises the Principal to convene the Disciplinary Review Board.

1.                  drug/alcohol evaluation

2.                  minimum 30 hours of service

c.       If the pending suspension is judged too distant by the Dean, an alternate sanction may be imposed at the Dean’s discretion.
